August 23, 2007 ---For Immediate Release--- FUNdraising Event for Documentary Film about BARBARA BORDEN at Tamalpais Bank in Mill Valley Acclaimed Bay Area drummer, Barbara Borden, and Emmy award-winning filmmaker, David L. Brown, will celebrate the launch of their feature-length autobiographical documentary film-in-progress, “Keeper of the Beat,” with a FUNdraising event hosted by Tamalpais Bank, 453 Miller Avenue, in Mill Valley, on Thursday, October 4, 2007, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In the film, Barbara Borden, a dynamic 62-year-old Bay Area drummer, performer, composer, teacher and peacemaker, tells her story in words and music, including footage from “She Dares to Drum,” Borden’s autobiographical percussion play, which originally debuted in San Francisco in 1995. The event will include music by Borden and Mill Valley musical friends, a 20-minute sample screening of the film, a presentation about funding the film, and a discussion with the filmmakers. Whole Foods Market in Mill Valley will provide refreshments. Although the event is free, reservations are required as space is limited.
